Can the Musée du Luxembourg collections be visited when exhibitions are not on?
The Museum no longer has a permanent collection. The Museum is closed between the two temporary annual exhibitions. To read about the history of the Musée du Luxembourg, click here

Is the Museum accessible for visitors in wheelchairs or those with reduced mobility?
Yes. A lift gives access to the Museum from the forecourt. Click here for more information.
Do you loan wheelchairs?
Yes, the Museum has two wheelchairs. To read about the accessibility and loan conditions, click here.
Are you allowed to visit the Musée du Luxembourg with a stroller?

Does the museum have a cloakroom?
Yes, but circumstances may reduce the possibilities of leaving things, see the Visiting rules, Section 2 for more information.
Can the gift store be visited separately without visiting the Museum?
Yes on days the museum is open, up to 45 minutes before the museum closes. See the exhibition hours and access. The gift store is closed between two exhibitions.
How long does the tour last?
The exhibition tour takes about 1 hour.
Can you photograph or film the exhibited works?

Can you have something to eat at the Museum?
Yes, refreshments and meals may be enjoyed at the Mademoiselle Angelina tearoom on the Museum’s forecourt.
Can you go the Mademoiselle Angelina tearoom without visiting the exhibition?
Yes, by going through the Vigipirate security check to access the forecourt.
Can you go into the exhibition, come out to have lunch, and go back into the exhibition?
No, leaving the exhibition at any time is final.

Does the Museum have guided tours for individual visitors?
Yes, guided tours are available. Reserving in advance is recommended. For more information, click here

Can I change the date to visit I chose when I ordered online?
No. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded, as stipulated in the general conditions of sale. In this case please choose your date carefully when ordering because you cannot change the date you visit once the transaction has been terminated.
Can I change the visitor’s name on the ticket?
Yes, you can ask for this to be done at contact.luxembourg@museeduluxembourg.fr by giving the ticket number.
My ticket entrance is for 11 am. Can I visit the Museum outside this time?
No, but your ticket is valid for entrance within the 30 minutes after the time indicated. It is important to respect the time slot chosen when booking.
