From Paris to São Paulo, Tarsila do Amaral put his iconographic universe to the test of cubism and primitivism, before initiating the "anthropophagic" movement, advocating Brazilians' "devouring" of colonizing cultures as a form of resistance.

Vividly colored landscapes, unusual and fascinating visions, dreamlike gigantism and almost abstract geometry of her latest compositions only confirm the power of a work rooted in its time and always ready to renew itself.

A unique retrospective to be discovered at the Musée du Luxembourg, from October 9, 2024 to February 2, 2025.
