Presented by Marie-Amélie zu Salm-Salm, art historian and curator

This talk highlights the importance of the Parisian art scene after the Second World War, and the key role Pierre Soulages played in the revival of abstraction in Germany. It reveals the pioneering role of artists, even before political decisions, in the Franco-German rapprochement as much as the importance of Germany in launching Soulages’ artistic career.
